What treatment should I get if I have severe hyperpigmentation (brown spots) due to years of acne?
Ive had acne for many years. Facial acne hasnt been my major problem, actually my biggest problem is body acne. I have had acne on my back, chest, and shoulders for a long time and it has left lots of brown spots all over my body. I hate it, it makes me feel really self concious about myself.. I cant even go to the beach or pool because I am so embarrassed.
I decided to earn some money and go to a dermatologist to get over with this once and for all. What treatment should I get for severe brown spots due to acne???
How much will it cost?? I have around 250 bucks but im pretty sure my prents are willing to help! The answer with the most info will get 10 easy points!!!

Zap ‘em w/ laser maybe? Otherwise CoQ10 fades spots & there R other, new things to try–I really don’t know, but maybe some of that stuff for old ppl w/ age spots, porcelana or whatever? At least it wouldn’t take all ur money! Call a salon that gives face treatments, massages, etc., they’ll usually be well-versed on effective treatments & how long they take, etc.
Well I found some useful recipes for homemade masks for cleaning the acne spots and I’ve started to use the yeast one. After the first application (a few minutes ago) my skin became very smooth. I will also try the lotion, it looks kinda harsh, but the peroxide really lighten the discoloration, so I’ll give it a shot:

For the hyperpigmentation on your face you should try using a facial mask. I know it doesn’t exactly sound promising, but trust me, it worked for my skin. I used to have pretty bad acne and since I would always pick at them, I started getting dark brown spots on my face. All the other answers are good but I really think in your case your best bet is to go to a dermatologist and let him tell you what to do. Your acne seems pretty severe and that’s the best options. All those over the counter products are for mild cases.
