What is this deep, painful pimple?
I barely have any acne. I am a teen so I pretty much always have one litte/big pimple on my face, but just one. And sometimes barely none. It depends. Well they are usually above the skin and go away pretty quickly. But…I have this one pimple on my cheek which is really painful and doesn’t have a head, so its deep I am guessing. Its kinda big, too, but not super noticeable.
I have salycilic acid treatment and 2.5/10 percent benzoyl peroxide treatment. Which to use? And this is a cystic lesion, right? What is it caused by?
Thanks!

It does sound like a cystic lesion. It is just caused by blocked pores. They come up occasionally, and you’re lucky you only get a few. Usually when I get those I break out with heaps in one area.
Firstly, don’t pick at it and hold ice there. I usually wait until the ice block runs out. Then get a cotton ball and put salt on it and leave it on for a 2-3 minutes. After that, if the head hasn’t come up yet put tea-tree oil and go to sleep. When you wake up, if it still hasn’t formed a head, I usually use benzoyl peroxide to dry it out.
I suggest you use 2.5% as 10% is for extreme acne and since you said you only have one or two pimples popping out it’s not extreme is it? Also your pimple may only just began popping out, so don’t touch it or try to squeeze it just let it heal by itself and dab a bit of treatment on it once a day until it heals.
hi, i think it’s best to learn how to prevent pimples rather than focusing on treating it. prevention is better than cure. if you want to prevent pimples, you can eat 2-4 apples a day and drink a lot of water. this is the most effective and safest way to prevent pimples. cheers
