What is a cheap, yet effective cleanser that will clear up my skin, without ordering it across country?
Im 13 years old and i have had the same problem for awhile. I have quite alot of small blemishes ( the occasional “beast”) but whenever I get a new cleanser it doesn’t work well! right now i’m using spectro jel and neutrogena acne stress control spot treatment, and it’s working FARELY well, but i still have under-my-skin bumps on my nose and forehead,a single cystic blemish, and 1 or 2 white heads. sadly, this is the closest i’ve been to clear for awhile. my skin is ( most of the time)normal, not oily, and not dry, but it does get dry from certain products and i hate the way the flaky skin looks under make-up. So, as u see i’m getting very fusterated with my skin and I can’t order any proactive or other products for a couple months , which means ugly skin for a couple months:( so please tell me your goods, and if neccesary i can get ahold of mosturizers if it dries my skin out, but I’m really trying to avoid that since it will cause more pimples. ok well goodluck

Soap and water 2 times a day. Works better than any chemical cleanser.
i love biore
especially the pore unclogging scrub… for you i would definately recommend exfoliating… try not to touch your face, avoid stress, eat well, and wash your face morning and night…
you also may want to invest in a good skin cleaser… i personally use aveda… it is rather pricey… but i like it… you can always try travel sizes to find one you like
good luck!
Many beauty products on the market have harmful chemicals in them; do your favorite beauty products contain any of these things?:
* Mineral Oil, Paraffin, and Petrolatum – Petroleum products that coat the skin like plastic, clogging pores and creating a build-up of toxins, which in turn accumulate and can lead to dermatologic issues. Slows cellular development, which can cause you to show earlier signs of aging. Suspected cause of cancer. Disruptive of hormonal activity. By the way, when there’s an oil spill in the ocean, don’t they rush to clean it up – fast? Why put that stuff on your skin?
* Parabens – Widely used as preservatives in the cosmetic industry (including moisturizers). An estimated 13,200 cosmetic and skin care products contain parabens. Studies implicate their connection with cancer. They have hormone-disrupting qualities – mimicking estrogen – and interfere with the body’s endocrine system.
* Phenol carbolic acid– Found in many lotions and skin creams. Can cause circulatory collapse, paralysis, convulsions, coma and even death from respiratory failure.
* Propylene glycol – Used as a moisturizer in cosmetics and as a carrier in fragrance oils. Shown to cause dermatitis, kidney or liver abnormalities, and may inhibit skin cell growth or cause skin irritation.
* Acrylamide– Found in many hand and face creams. Linked to mammary tumors in lab research.
* Sodium laurel or lauryl sulfate (SLS), also known as sodium laureth sulfate (SLES)– Found in car washes, engine degreasers, garage floor cleaners… and in over 90% of personal care products! SLS breaks down the skin’s moisture barrier, easily penetrates the skin, and allows other chemicals to easily penetrate. Combined with other chemicals, SLS becomes a “nitrosamine”, a potent class of carcinogen. It can also cause hair loss. SLES is sometimes disguised with the labeling “comes from coconut” or “coconut-derived
* Toluene – Poison! Danger! Harmful or fatal if swallowed! Harmful if inhaled or absorbed through the skin. Made from petroleum or coal tar, and found in most synthetic fragrances. Chronic exposure linked to anemia, lowered blood cell count, liver or kidney damage, and may affect a developing fetus. Butylated hydroxytoluene (BHT) contains toluene. Other names may include benzoic and benzyl.
* Dioxane– Found in compounds known as PEG, Polysorbates, Laureth, ethoxylated alcohols. Common in a wide range of personal care products. The compounds are usually contaminated with high concentrations of highly volatile 1,4-dioxane, easily absorbed through the skin. Dioxane’s carcinogenicity was first reported in 1965 and later confirmed in studies including one from the National Cancer Institute in 1978. Nasal passages and liver are the most vulnerable. Dioxane is easily removed during the manufacturing process by “vacuum stripping”.
Warning: It is a synthetic derivative of coconut. Watch for hidden language on labels, such as “comes from coconut”.
IF SO, you should throw them away IMMEDIATELY and you can substitute virgin/extra virgin olive oil or a natural coconut oil to moisturize in the meantime until you find a better, natural alternative!!! Tell ALL your friends and family!!!
Ok well i have SEVERE acne so i had to result to Accutane. I have tryed everything. The best thing on the market with out a perscription is Acne Free.
http://www.acnefree.com/af
It cleared my face up a little bit! Wich was good for my type of skin wich is worse than yours, so it should do the trick for you!
It costs $20 for the kit that you buy at any drugstore. Ulta sometimes has it on sale. This systam even has pills you can take for your acne with out a perscription.
The only bad thing is that it can dry the skin. I personally like Clinique Moisturizers or Cetiphil.
orrr
You could try tooth paste and mouth wash. Use Listerine MouthWAsh as a face toner. Use twice a day. Only listerine works (i dont know why) and get a neww clean bottle (same with the tooth paste, dont get icky mouth germs on your face). Use the tooth paste as a spot treatment. It will dry the acne up. This you could use intill you can get AcneFree.
hmmm, try going to your doctors or dermatologists, they will perscribe you with something that actually works!, although i find oxy works well.
oh and dry skin is a very bad thing!!! use moisturiser, i use simple as its not too thick and stops my skin from looking flaky from daily washing:)
at 13, you’re going through hormonal changes, so you’re body is just reacting to the increase in hormone levels. There really is no way to completely rid blemishes at this stage of your life, but you CAN manage it and minimize it and prevent damaging your skin. Cystic blemishes will not react to benzoyl peroxide (oxy, clearasil) or salicyic acid (e.g. neutrogena spot treatment). Cetaphil Gentle Skin facial cleanser is inexpensive and doesn’t dry out your face. You can find it at CVS, Walgreen’s, etc. CVS has it’s own version of it that is cheaper and just as effective at cleansing without overdrying. It may make sense to overwash and scrub your face, but don’t do it. It will only make it worse because your skin will produce more oil. Make-up will only make zits and blemishes worse. give it a week without make-up to unclog your pores and let your face heal itself. Analyze your diet and try to avoid greasy, high fat, starchy foods. They are a source of inflammation. Stick to vegetables, fruit, and lean meats. get enough sleep – at least 8 hours. and drink only water – no high sugar sodas or diet sodas for that matter. if you want to have great skin, you have to feed it great, healthy food!
