Ive had acne for many years. Facial acne hasnt been my major problem, actually my biggest problem is body acne. I have had acne on my back, chest, and shoulders for a long time and it has left lots of brown spots all over my body. I hate it, it makes me feel really self concious about myself.. I cant even go to the beach or pool because I am so embarrassed.

I decided to earn some money and go to a dermatologist to get over with this once and for all. What treatment should I get for severe brown spots due to acne???

Hi Ray. Thanks a lot for sharing all your knowledge to help those of us who suffer from acne. I have severe cystic acne for the past 15 years (face, neck, back, shoulder). I’ve read every articles and try to follow eating the right diet and taking the necessary supplements. After 3 months of following your advice, I have noticed that I got much lesser new acne. My question is: 1) Since I start eating the right diet, I am always hungry all the time. Eating vegetables and eating only meat does not make me full at all, because I used to eat carb so much ( lots of rice and bread ). Do you have any tips on how to keep yourself from being hungry all the time and still eating the right diet? 2) I notice that there are several diet that should be followed. In your opinion, which one should I follow: a) Low glycemic diet b) Alkaline diet c) Anti Inflammatory Diet 3) You recommend so many vitamin, oils, enzymes and supplements. I want to clear my acne, but at the same time, I don’t want to spend way too much money every month. Can you rank from the most important to the least important, so I can prioritize. 4) I know that fast food is really bad for you, but I don’t cook, so I always buy food outside everyday. Can you give some suggestions on which food at popular fast food restaurants that won’t cause breakouts? Which food at Subway, McDonald’s and Yoshinoya that you recommend the most? 5) Which meat ( red meat or white meat ) is healthier and the one you recommend? I heard that

Should i take Accutane?

I’m a 16 year old male and I’m wondering if i should take Accutane or not. I have mild/moderate acne and have micro cystic bumps to the left/right side of my chin going up to my lips and 3-4 medium-sized pimples on the side of my face during a breakout. I’ve tried Pro-active and that only “managed” my acne. I’m currently on Minocycline(100mg twice daily) and Duac in the morning/ Differin at night. I absolutely hate acne and it can lower my self- confidence a lot. I am very grateful i have it mild, but I would really like to be clear. The treatment I’m on right now seems to be doing a pretty good job, but i still get breakouts. It seems like every weekend i get three more pimples before the next monday of school. I’m going into the derm. soon and I’m sure he’s going to suggest accutane.. because he mentioned it could be an option last time i saw him. I just don’t know what i should do, just out wait the acne throughout high school and wish it to go away? Or risk accutane?

What should I do about my back acne?

- I’m 14.
- I got my period a year and three months ago.
- I’ve seen a derm. and I’ve gotten topical treatment months ago.
- Is it just puberty? Should I just leave it alone?
- The treatments don’t clear it up, they just help a little.

I’m 23 years old, and I’ve been having moderate to severe acne since I was a young teen. I’ve been going to the dermatologist on and off for about 10 years now, since I was 13, and nothing has ever really been able to clear up my acne. Over the past 10 years, I’ve been prescribed antibiotics, birth control pills, Differin gel, Clinda-derm, Retin-A, and ProActiv (amongst other treatments I’m probably forgetting), but nothing has worked. Lately it seems like my acne is just getting progressively worse. My entire face (specifically my cheeks and chin) is currently covered with cystic pimples — it’s so severe that I feel embarrassed to even leave the house sometimes.

I made an appointment with my dermatologist for next week to see if I can get on Accutane. My question is: does it work? If you took it, did it work for you? Did you experience any really bad side effects while you were taking it?

How should my SKIN look when Im done Accutane?

I’ve been on it for 3.5months and only have 2 weeks to go till Im done my prescription. Im still getting a couple deep cystic acne & and few more smaller ones

I saw a Demo at the beginning of my treatment & have just been going to a regular doctor for monthly check up, blood work, etc…

I’ve been taking 50mg a day of the generic Claris & am 140lb. The only side effects really are the usual dry lips & I love that my hair isn’t as oily!

Which cleanser/products should I purchase?

I washed and waxed my uncle’s truck this past weekend, and he gave me $35. I save the small weekly allowance that I get, and because I’m in need of some new skincare products, I wanted to head over to my local Walgreens to buy me a new cleanser, and possibly a few other products. Walgreens is also great because I’m only 16 and dig great deals!

I have pretty normal skin, but this past year I moved from a dry climate to a humid climate. Before my skin was pretty much perfect, and I’d break out once or twice every couple of months. Now, I always have little flesh-colored bumps around my chin, there are blotchy spots and pinkish scars, and I’ve been getting very painful, large cystic pimples. I’ve tried quite a few products, I’ve tried not using anything, and so far nothing works. All the cleansers I have tried do nothing to prevent the acne, so I’m really wanting to find a good cleanser.

Hi, I need some advice on which product to buy. I have mild acne, and it seems like no matter how many times a day and how often I was my face, there is always a few left over, and it drives me crazy lol. I’m 14, and I’m going into high school in September, and I want to give off a good first impression. (And possible score myself a girl ;) lol!!!) Well anyway, I read that the ThermaClear device stings pretty bad, but in the long run it seems more cheaper and effective than the Zeno. Normally pain isn’t a problem with me, as I can take a lot of pain on my body. However, it’s my face that I’m worried about when it comes to pain, as I have eczema, so my skin is pretty sensitive. I don’t want to be in pain with the ThermaClear, but I want my pimples to be gone. Is it really that bad of a “zap”? And do you think that my sensitive skin would be better off with Zeno? Please help, thanks!
lol #1 twilightfan ever!!!!!, you be the judge if I’m cute or not (I personally feel ugly… answer my question and please, be TRUTHFUL, I’d rather be told I’m ugly than go on thinking I’m good-looking):
