Body acne can be just as – or even more – frustrating than getting acne on the face. They can appear in the weirdest, most uncomfortable areas, and are sometimes even harder to treat. What can you do to get rid of them?

The first step to getting rid of body acne is to identify what causes it. Most acne are hormonal in nature. The best example of this are the pimples that almost every teenager gets when puberty makes their testosterone levels skyrocket. Other factors may worsen acne or make them more likely to appear. Genetics will tell you if you’re likely to have acne, and what type of acne you’re most likely to have. Stress elevates testosterone levels, and thus can trigger breakouts or worsen existing acne. Eating a lot of fatty, high-sugar foods also have a way of making your skin more acne prone.

I am not expecting them to disappear completely, but I would not mind at least defeating the pink spots now that acne is over….

Has anyone been successful in lessening acne scars permanently, and if yes, can you recommend a way?

Question by Dave Smith: Is it a good idea to get laser treatment for acne scars?
I have a lot of red and purple acne scars and i was wondering if it was a good idea to get the laser treatment that is available for those sort of things. Ive tried everything, proactive, bye bye blemish, doxycycline, vitamin e, lemon juice, zapzyt, clean and clear, and a bunch of other things but nothing seems to work. So if anybody knows if the laser treatment actually works i would greatly appreciate your input. Thanks!

So embarrassing but I have body acne, not bad, but I get pimples on my shoulders, chest, back, upper thighs and butt. Does anyone know a good treatment? I know proactiv is good, but I don’t know if it works for the body. And I don’t want to spend that kind of money for something I haven’t heard of and don’t know if it works or not.

I havent got it way too bad, and atm im using this stuff called clearasil, which is alright, but doesnt live up to the claims on the back.
is there any product that completely wipes out acne (or near enough)
btw, i dont want to spend way too much money either…

i have very oily skin, and moderate acne. no creams or products like proactiv ever helped me much at all. my doctor gave me doxycycline to use for about one month, and it got rid of all my acne, and my face wasn’t red anymore, but after a few weeks, the acne came back. he gave me the pills again, but they only helped a little that time. at the moment i don’t have insurance, so i need a good replacement before i go to the doctor again, which could be months

ok im 15 years old and ive suffered from sever acne for quite a few years and i spent a total of $3,296 on acne treatments alone just last year. nothing is really working for me. any advice?
