Before I went on Accutane, I had severe acne on my face, chest, and back. My dermatologist had me try many topical creams and pills but nothing ever worked. Accutane completely cleared it up. Now it is mildly returning on my face, chest, and back. I’ve been using Pro-Activ but it hasn’t been doing anything. I’m very scared of my acne becoming severe again. Is there ANYTHING, like an at-home treatment, that is almost guaranteed to work?

Im currently on antibiotics and a strong topical treatment for my body acne and i also have mild to moderate facial acne and im using treatments for that too and the strong topical treatment was $75, and i am going back to the dermatologist in 3 months to see if i need accutane and i most likely will so what would be a good prescription insurance plan to help cover a good amount of the price of accutane.

Accutane Experiences for Adult Males?

I am a 27 year old male, and I had severe acne starting age age 15. Facial acne isn’t really too bad, but I have very consistent cystic acne on my neck, back, ass, thighs, and chest. For accutane users, what has your post-accutane experience been like? I am sure that it cures acne while you are on it, but I don’t want to go through the hassle of the treatment program if within 6 months it was like I was never on it. Also, any tips on dealing with it?

Well, i’ve often read here that they had taken Accutane in the past and it worked well, but then, after a few years, their acne came back and they would take another round of Accutane again. Did anyone get good lasting results after taking just 1 batch?

Accutane for regular acne?

My dermatologist and I have been through a lot of treatments to cure up my acne. I do not have cystic acne, and her next step was to use Accutane to clear up my acne. As you know, the side affects for Accutane are not very pleasant and I have been reading everywhere that Accutane is to cure cystic acne, and severe acne. My acne is not severe, but moderate. I really would like to cure it up without having to go to Accutane, but I don’t see that possible at this point. Accutane is a last resort for me. What do you suggest for someone with moderate acne, but not cystic? I need a way to clear it up without that long list of side effects and monthly blood tests.

Yes, I am aware of the downside of teens using this product. But after trying Dermatologists, Proactive, Probiotics – in short – everything I can think of, my 15 year old son is very upset over his cystic acne.

Does Accutane work on someone this young or are his hormones going too crazy at this point for anything to work?

I had severe acne and completed 2 courses of accutane over a period of 5 years. Now ive been off my second round for about 10 months and the acne is slowly creeping back up on me. I want to stop it before it gets uncontrollable like it was before, and I dont think doctors can even GIVE more than 2 rounds of accutane.

I mean my acne wasnt as bad as acne cases can possibly get, but it WAS as stubborn as they get. So in other words dont suggest creams, antibiotics, other topicals… tried them all already.

I get these painful cystic pimples mostly around my jaw and chin even though I wash my face regularly with quality cleansers and all. I’ve tried benzoyl peroxide, salicylic acid, antibiotics, and other acne treatments but they don’t really seem to do much. As soon as one batch of pimples go away, other sprouts. I also have acne on my back and chest sometimes. My condition is really not that bad, but it is bothersome.

Should I start accutane acne treatment!?

I am 15, and this is my first year of high school. So far it has sucked acne has taken all of my confidence from me. I do not have little zits, I have cystic ones. They hurt and are huge, I now care about what others think, not always did I. I want to get back to actually looking people in the eyes, and pulling my hair up and not feeling like I need to put it back down to hide them.
If I take it how long will it take to see good results. I know it has to get worse at first, but if you have taken it how long untill you could see it helping :) ?

Thank you, and please tell me any additional things I might want to know.
I have tried all the derm has to give me. They told me this was the last option. I will be starting birth con soon, so no worrys about that.

Cystic acne and Accutane

Accutane is the most popular cystic acne medication; however it doesn’t work foreveryone. I assume that before taking another course of Cystic Acne Accutane:

You’d make sure to reduce the number of prescription drugs you’re taking during the course.
