natural treatment for cystic acne?
My daughter is 16 and has had serious acne problems since 4th grade. She’s seen a dermatologist since then as well, and is tired of nothing working. She’s frustrated and wanting to try a dietary approach. Does any one have suggestions for her? She’s bumped up fiber, added B vitamins and zinc, and eliminated the majority of dairy. Thanks much for your help

vitamins are hard for your body to absorb. Try having her eat fresh salmon, (stay away from all nuts maybe a handful of almonds). COCONUT ALSO, I never had cystic acne, but I do get a few zits because I workout so much. My skin is sooo much clearer eating 6-7 ounces of coconut a day, and 8-9 ounces of salmon. Sardines are also great for the skin and hair, eat a tin a day. Eat 3 raw free range organic eggs. This is my diet, its just a sample and alot more calories than your daughter would need.
Breakfast: Piece of fruit 3 raw organic eggs or 7-8 ounces of chicken breast. 3 oz of fresh coconut
Meal 2: 9oz of salmon, small 5 oz sweet potato.
Meal 3: Salad with tbsp of olive oil, 9oz of lean steak
in between: Fresh vegetables juice (usually I juice spring mix, asparagus, kale, spinach, or apples.
Meal 4: 1 1/2 tins of sardines/ 1/2 oatmeal 1tbsp flax seed oil
Meal 5: 6oz All natural beef liver (cooked rare as possible, very good for your skin) mixed with mushrooms, peppers, and onions.
Meal 6: Usually i’ll eat just a protein source and more coconut.
My meals vary day by day, I don’t always eat the same thing. Like I said she will only need about half this much food. This is a high protein diet for a athlete, but i’m just letting you know the different health foods out there. She should make her own diet, taking the little things she needs out of mine and throwing out the things she dosen’t need.
So this is what you need to buy her
Extra virgin olive oil
Fresh coconuts
Flax seed oil
Salmon atleast 3-4 times a week
Sardines (no salt added) in water EVERYDAY if possible
Free range organic eggs (3 whole raw eggs, your better off drinking one at a time than 3)
Sweet potato’s
Brocolli
Organic spring mix
1 more tip. Don’t make a dramatic change in her diet all the sudden, she wont stick with it. Instead start adding these good foods replacing the bad stuff she eats right now. All these foods have good anti-inflammatory properties.
Acne forms when sebum (skin oil) and bacteria become trapped in follicles in the skin. Blemishes appear when these oils prevent the skin from naturally shedding which may be in the form of whiteheads, blackheads, pimples or cysts. Severe cases of acne will often leave indentations or scars on the skin.
