It’s quite painful, and the pimples start deep under the skin and do not come to a head for days. Any way of treating them or reducing the pain?

we used to prescribe a creme called panoxyl. i have seen it for sale over the counter at our local wal-greens. this stuff worked on all kinds of acne. good luck
Some inflamed cysts can be treated with an injection of cortisone medication to cause it to shrink. Cysts that do not respond to other treatments or reoccur can be removed surgically.
Cysts usually do not cause pain unless they rupture or become infected or inflamed. Some cysts disappear on their own without treatment. Other cysts may need to be drained. That involves piercing the cyst with a sharp object and draining it.

There is an over-the-counter acne treatment for all types of acne. Finding the right one might be the difficult chore. Acne treatments work differently depending on the individual. You may look into a natural acne treatment or and herbal acne treatment. If you can’t seem to find a treatment on your own you should consult a dermatologist.
if your cystic acne is hormonal and most cystic acne is, then you can not fight it topically. topical medications are to fight bacteria that causes acne. if you want to fight hormonal acne you have to treat it from the inside. i have battled acne for 16 years and was introduced to spironolactone by my dermatologist last october. it is a cheap prescription medicine that was once used as a blood pressure medicine. it didn’t work well as a BP med and they found it is a great androgen blocker. my dermatologist is very careful with the amount i take (50mg) as his father is a harvard educated cardiologist. and i had to get my potassium checked a couple of times. this has been a miracle drug for me. they paired it up with yaz and i have never looked so great. it angers me that this is an viable, effective treatment and many dermatologist would rather push expensive topicals that don’t work on their patients. it can take a couple of months to see the benefits but it is sooo worth it. google it. the reviews are great and it has been a miracle drug for most people. there seems to be no adverse effects from long term use either. i am being thourough with this info because i ate all organic, used the best make-up, execised, drank only water, stopped smoking, used herbal treatments and did everything imaginable to help my acne and nothing worked but this. hope this info helps you or someone else you know. i wish i had had this info years ago.
