I just started accutane but I would like to use something for the scars that are here and I can tell a few of them are going to be around for about 6 months so is there anything that can help heal them in a shorter period of time?

Acne can cause scars when not treated sufficient. Therefore you should always treat your acne to minimize the risk of acne scars. If you have severe acne you should consult your doctor or a dermatologist for treatment. You cannot treat acne scars if you still have acne problems. You first have to treat the acne, before you can treat the acne scars.
Acne scars can be found in different variations. The depth of the scar is important. Shallow scars are easier to treat then deep scars. The best acne scar treatment depends on the scars and on the person. Consult your doctor about the best treatment for you. Below is a list of common acne treatments.

My daughter is 16 and has had serious acne problems since 4th grade. She’s seen a dermatologist since then as well, and is tired of nothing working. She’s frustrated and wanting to try a dietary approach. Does any one have suggestions for her? She’s bumped up fiber, added B vitamins and zinc, and eliminated the majority of dairy. Thanks much for your help

I currently have very smooth, spot-free skin, but left over scars from previous spots. It is really depressing. Looking at websites, they are definitely not the worst scars in the world – very small, about 5 on each cheek, but dark red / purple.
I have tried all sorts of creams from the doctor, and have tried herbal treatments and everything.
Any advice on other treatments or where to go for laser treatment? Also how much?

i saw someone post the same question and the answers are good but mostly they’re for face acne. My problem is back acne…i’m having breakouts on my back (specifically between the shoulder blades). I tried neutrogena body wash but it only made it worse. i also have dark scars from the acne and it’s making my back look dirty…i need a treatment/medication that not only treats acne but heals/erases the scars as well…and immediately! specially now it’s summer and i can’t wear a swimsuit because my back looks blotchy…help!

Body acne problems can be unique from person to person — meaning if the type and severity of acne is different per individual, the cure or treatment will also be different for each person since each has a different skin type and different reaction to certain products and treatments.
This is why experts say that there is no single most effective acne solution. It is really a combination of diet, hygiene and finding the best anti-acne product.

I have a scar removal gel that works GREAT for my stretch marks and other scars, but I’ve yet to see this dramatic or any improvement in my acne scars.
They’re mostly on my forehead and some on my chin. They’re raised, not indented, if that means anything.
I don’t mind spending a little more money or waiting a month or to for a quality product that WORKS.
Would rather not have any procedures or surgeries, but I’ll keep an open mind.

Acne refers to the reddish inflammations that are formed on the skin and affect mostly the face. It has been revealed that acne is the most common skin problem which affects teenagers and almost every teenager is faced with the problem of acne formation on their skin. In adults, the tendency of acne formation greatly reduces and it is about 25% of the adults who actually have acne. Acnes are detrimental to one’s outer appearance and more often these blemishes on the skin make individuals appear extremely unattractive. These swellings are visible and cannot be covered up easily and therefore teenagers no doubt dread the sight of acne on their skins. There are various different ways which can be considered as helpful in treating acne problems among teenagers. One of the foremost factors that need to be borne in mind in case of acne treatments amidst teenagers is that the daily diet and lifestyle also contribute immensely in acne formation. It is known that excess oil secretion leads to the formation of acne in most cases. Therefore it is advisable that teenagers avoid oily food and try and incorporate more and more fresh fruits and vegetables in their diet.
